Why Soy Wax Makes Apple Scented Candles Smell Better?
Soy wax comes from a renewable source. Soy wax candles produce clean burn and do not release harmful chemicals or soot, unlike paraffin wax candles.
Due to this, the scent is stronger as the other unwarranted toxins do not interfere with the scent throw. They also burn for 50-70% longer time than paraffin wax candles. Longer burn times means longer fragrances.
Process of Making Apple Scented Candles
First, wax flakes are placed in a wax melting pitcher. You stir the wax so that it doesn’t form any lumps. Then remove the wax from the heat source, and measure the temperature of the wax using a thermometer.
Make sure that the temperature of the wax is less than the flash point of the fragrance oils before you add any fragrance oil. Depending on how strong you want the candle to smell, add fragrance oil accordingly. The general rule of thumb is to add 0.5 ounce of fragrance oil per a pound of wax for optimal scent throw.
Then add the fragrance oil of apple scent and stir it for two minutes to mix it in the wax uniformly. You can also add a few other fragrance oils for our apple scented candles to make them smell more delectable.
Then place a wick in each glass jar and attach the wick to the bottom of the glass jar using a wick tab. Hold the wick in place by tying it to a wooden chopstick or any other arrangement.
Then pour the molten wax into the glass jar. You can hand-pour wax into the glass jars with utmost care and precision to ensure the quality of each candle.
Finally, let the wax cool down for 30 minutes to one hour. Trim the wick to one-fourth of an inch with the wick clipper. We ensure that the candle is cured for at least three days before use.
